Preparations for the Origo One business centre construction site to begin this week

This week, the shopping centre developer and operator Linstow Center Management (LCM) will start construction preparation works for the Origo business centre located at Stacijas laukums 1. The new building is a part of the Origo shopping centre expansion project.

The chairman of the board at SIA Linstow Center Management, Frode Gronvold, said: “At the start of the Origo shopping centre expansion project, I am satisfied about the fact that our company’s development vision corresponds with the future vision of the city. In the near future, Riga will become a modern, multi-modal transportation point, an important part of which will be the new Origo business centre.

The Origo business centre is integrated into Riga’s general city development plan, and it is expected that, with the completion of the project in 2019, the area from Stacijas laukums to Dzirnavu Street will have been improved. The new Origo business centre is part of the new train station project, which will result in a more significant, modern and attractive destination for various commercial, catering and other services, thus strengthening the international competitiveness of Riga and of Latvia in general.

After the implementation of the project, the Origo shopping centre’s commercial space will more than double. The new Origo business centre will be equipped with a larger and more convenient underground parking garage. Commercial space will be located on floors 1-3, and office premises will be located on floors 4-6, covering a total of 11,500 square metres. The project will strengthen the leading position of the Origo shopping centre among Riga trade centres, while offering a larger selection of goods, restaurants and cafes, as well as everyday services and recreational activities in a modern interior.

Preparation works by SIA Skonto Būve have already started in the Stacijas laukums 1 area, where the new Origo business centre is going to be built. The construction site is being prepared in accordance with BREEAM standards. In the near future, the reconstruction of separate main engineering utility lines will be carried out, as well as other works related to the preparation of the construction site.
